48 hours in Paris
Last weekend we went to Paris. It was brilliant! We were only there for 2 nights - 48 hours to be precise, but we made every second count as we marverled the Eiffel Tower and l'Arc de Triomphe, explored Le Jardin de Luxembourg, wandered along Le Seine and through the streets of the Latin Quarter and Le Marais, gazed at Monet's Water Lilies at the Musée de l' Orangerie, soaked up more of the arts at the Dali exhibition at Le Centre Pompidou, picked up some macaroons at the famous Pierre Herme, stopped for a celebratory cocktail at Le Maurice, feasted on the taster menu of all taster menus (with wine pairing) at Le Chateaubriand (currently ranked number 15 in the world's best restaurants, I thoroughly recommend this to anyone who stops in Paris - make sure you get the right restaurant, as there are two with the same name, you want this one), lunched on the freshest oysters and prawns I've ever tasted at a little place called Huitrerie Regis and, oh yes, consumed copious amounts of coffee and croissants!
