Notes on Ethiopia still to come but here are some lovely, grainy, gritty shots from the old 35mm Olympus. Oh what I wouldn't give to be underneath that sunshine right now...

Simien Mountains, Ethiopia
Our trek in the Simiens was, as you might expect, bloody brilliant. Insane landscapes, clear blue skies, glorious sunsets, big baboons, baby baboons and fresh goat stew for dinner...
Three cheers for Harar!
Harar was colourful, cosmopolitan, buzzing, fun, friendly, warm, devout, tolerant, resourceful, proud, full of smiles and abundant in culinary delights. The rest of the world could learn a lot from the fourth holiest city in Islam, also known as the City of Beer. Oxymoronic, yes; impossible, no. If you ever need your faith in humanity restored, go here. Top 3 moments? Watching Friday prayers, going to the 5pm market of colour and drinking coffee (of course). Let me know if you go - I'll give you the details of an awesome guy named Hailu who can show you around.
